If you're planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world.
Our practice nurses are available by appointment to offer medical advice regarding travel and vaccinations where appropriate.
Travel Risk Assessment
If you are travelling abroad please use the KLINIC platform to request a travel form be sent to you via SMS, or speak to a receptionist over the telephone.
Please then contact us 7 working days after we receive the completed form, to find out if any vaccines are required. It is important to start thinking about this as early as possible - at least 6 to 8 weeks before you travel - as an appointment will be required with the practice nurse to receive the vaccinations. Your appointment needs to be at least 2 weeks before you travel to allow the vaccines to work.
Free travel vaccinations included by the NHS are:
- Polio, Diphtheria and Tetanus booster (3 in 1 vaccine) – 10 years protection
- Hepatitis A – 25 years protection after 2 doses
- Typhoid fever – 3 years protection
- Cholera (only if considered high risk)

If you are recommended to have vaccinations that we cannot provide, you will need to obtain these from a private travel clinic, at least 6 weeks in advance of your intended trip.
